Commercial Retaining Walls on the Central Coast

Retaining walls are one of our specialities. Designed and constructed to support soil, these structures withstand lateral pressure from the soil due to weight and movement. The pressure can also be related to earth filling, liquid pressure (water), sand and other granular materials.

Retaining walls prevent soil from slowly eroding or suddenly collapsing, especially in hilly areas of Australia.

In recent years, retaining walls have also become popular for landscaping. A retaining wall can be added to gain better control over stormwater drainage on properties or used to create elevated garden beds and planter boxes.

For more than twenty years, Ground Stabilisation Systems has been called upon for commercial retaining walls throughout Australia, including the Central Coast. Our in-depth understanding of the area’s geology ensures we can deliver a safe and efficient retaining wall, regardless of environmental challenges and complexities.

The primary concern of any retaining wall project is safety, and it is crucial to understand the area’s unique challenges and environmental factors. This can sometimes be the most complicated part of the project — without research, testing, and planning, the progress of a retaining wall build can be disrupted and cause major delays for the construction project.

Our geotechnical Team on the Central Coast can perform a thorough site inspection and review existing retaining wall plans for any danger or pressure, ensuring the safety and efficiency of your retaining wall.

Our use of shotcrete

Shotcrete (or mock rock) is among our most popular geotechnical services here at Ground Stabilisation Systems. The technique is simple and effective, adding a quality finish to large surfaces in commercial and residential projects.

The process involves spraying concrete onto a surface through a hose at high velocities. Recently, it has become an important construction tool in the mining industry, especially in open excavations, tunnelling and slope stabilisation projects.

Shotcrete can also be used on roads and construction sites to complete residential projects (feature walls, for example).

Thanks to the force at which the concrete leaves the hose, shotcrete can be sprayed onto almost any surface, including vertical and overhead areas. It is applied quickly and sets rapidly, saving valuable time in various projects and settings.

While shotcrete is a time-saving technique, it is still considered a high-risk form of construction and should be administered by an experienced team like Ground Stabilisation Systems.

The site must be well-prepared and researched before shotcrete can be applied to a surface. Our team can complete a thorough site inspection to ensure shotcrete is your project’s safest and most effective solution.
