IN 2016, GROUND STABILISATION SYSTEMS ASSISTED SYDNEY TRAINS VIA ROCKFALL ANALYSIS AND FENCING TO INSTALL RAIL CORRIDOR PROTECTION NEAR WOMBARRA.

This particular rail cutting was deemed to be a constant problem site. It consisted of two benched slopes – the upper bench at 8m high and the lower bench at around 7m high consisting of isolated boulders.

A rockfall analysis was conducted to ensure the correct positioning of the fence and determining bounce heights throughout the cutting. At the time when GSS installed the 100kj fence, it was the first of its kind produced by Macceferri “™” to be installed in Australia.
