IN MARCH 2019, GROUND STABILISATION SYSTEMS COMPLETED A SOIL NAILING PROJECT WITH THE NEWCASTLE CITY COUNCIL.

After a rigorous tender process, GSS were awarded the contract to undertake soil nailing, TRM (Turf Reinforcement Mat) and drainage works.

Within a 45m section of the embankment, there had been instability and movement of the soil embankment which was quite noticeable. The purpose of the designed solution was to prevent any further instability to the cut slope from heavy rainfall. The project required 7m soil nails to anchor the TRM into active matting systems..

Within the soil underlay and top soil on the matting, 120 native plants were planted creating instant aesthetics for the public .
