Installing rockfall barriers to mitigate risk on properties.

NSW Crown Lands looked to GSS for advice due to the remote location for the supply and installation of rock catch fences to mitigate rockfall risk to the numerous dwellings located in the impact zone at three identified locations along the western foreshore of Patonga Creek.

In summary, the following rockfall Barriers were installed behind

• A 3m high RB750 rockfall barrier at 110m in length

• A 1.5m high RB100 UAF rockfall barrier at 30m in length

• A 3m high RB1000 rockfall barrier at 30m in length

GSS managed to install all three Barriers on schedule and within budget, utilising difficult access methods, including the assembly of the barriers with a Helicopter.
