The highly regarded McCloy Group of companies were planning a new residential development in the Lake Macquarie suburb of Teralba. The project presented significant challenges with steep slopes, water run-off issues and a high visibility site, as well as concerns from local Council.
Council approved the development, the first installation of this product in this terrain, viewing it as a case study for future development in the area.
McCloy Group engaged the specialist services of GSS to work with their engineers and designers to develop a three dimensional slope stabilization plan. The “geo-web” solution employed included “soil nailing” and ensured an economic and effective solution to the challenging soil stability problems in the critical areas of load support, slope protection, and earth retention.
The stable, well vegetated and rehabilitated site was not only a success for the developers and future residents but seen as a highly successful project by Council and a path forward for similar developments in the future.
Completed on time and budget.
