The Bellingen area South of Coffs Harbour is well known for its sub-tropical rainforest as well as the incredibly heavy rainfall the region experiences as part of its unique environment.
A series of torrential rain events had caused severe scouring of the Bellinger River banks putting many residents in danger as the stability of access roads to farms and properties was severely threatened.
GSS were engaged by Council to stabilize the river bank and successfully undertook the project using a technique we had employed in similar situations previously.
Using soil nails and Mac Mat R, we were able to provide a long term solution, stabilising the bank and promoting regrowth of the natural vegetation in the affected areas.
