After a rigorous evaluation period, GSS were engaged to carry out works to ensure the viability of this famous location. It was originally constructed between 1819 and 1822 by Commandant Morriset.
The name “Bogey Hole” came about from an Indigenous word which means “to bathe”.
Constant coastal erosion of the cliff faces to the exposed rock has created slope regression and instability.
GSS installed 12m rock bolts, rockcatch fences, and shotcrete to prevent further instability and create a safe area for the public.
