IN 2018, GROUND STABILISATION SYSTEMS HELPED TO PROTECT THE GIN GIN SPORTING COMPLEX FROM WATER DAMAGE AND SOIL SLIPS.

Gin Gin is the oldest town in W.A., dating back to the 1850s. However, the Gin Gin Sporting Complex is a modern facility at the heart of the community.

The unprotected slopes adjacent to the hockey field had significant erosion during 2018.

Known as Rill Erosion (the removal of soil from major surface runoff), GSS installed stabilised drainage berms and installed 3500 sqm of grassroots matting along with hydroseed. The results of the facility were a major improvement and joy to the community.
