JULY 2015 · Hunter Valley

Inspection of the large water treatment tanks at the Cessnock water treatment plant in the Hunter Valley revealed significant voids had developed between the tanks and the ground interface.

GSS was contracted to stabilize and secure the tanks and employed a technique using expansion grout with high early strength to fill the voids to maintain stability. The works were carried out at night to ensure minimal interruptions to services as the plant is the main facility for the wider Cessnock community.
